Prelude in E Minor, Op. 28, No. 4

Sheet music for the Prelude in E Minor, Op. 28, No. 4 by Frederic Chopin. A short character piece that captures quiet despair like no other, this is one of Chopin's easier preludes from the Opus 28 set. The long-phrased right hand melody sighs over heartbreaking, chromatically descending chords on the left, culminating in one anguished outburst before the resigned ending. The harmonic journey delays the piece's tonality until the very last measure, keeping up the tension and desolate wandering. For late intermediate-level students, 3 PDF pages.
