Keys to Composing, Units 3-4

Did you know that most of the world’s greatest composers are/were also great performers; and many of the greatest performers also compose?! That’s because the more you practice playing music on your instrument, the easier it will be to write your own music, and the more you practice composition, the better you will be able to understand all the other songs you play.

Composing music can be a little challenging at first. That’s why we’ve put together these pages to help anyone get started. With Keys to Composing, you’ll be guided through various activities to help you feel confident with writing your own arrangements of other songs, or even your own original music. We hope you take some of these ideas and continue to use them in other ways.
