A collection of four short piano pieces by Hungarian composer Béla Bartók. For early advanced students, 5 pages.
Product Description
Sheet music for Selected Bagatelles, from the Op. 6 set, Sz. 38, BB 50 by Béla Bartók. These four brief pieces offer a stunning range of melodic interest, rhythm, and, at times, even bizzare compositional technique. First in the set is a slow contrapuntal fantasy with each hand playing in a different key signature! Next comes a fast toccata whose highly chromatic melody and intense rhythms change from 2/2 to 3/2. Then comes a solemn dirge with a falling melody and mostly diatonic triads. Rounding off the set is a strange, slow piece whose melody has strong echoes of both Phrygian and Lydian modes. 5 pages total:
No. 1: Molto sostenuto
No. 2: Allegro giocoso
No. 4: Grave
No. 6: Lento
