  • Who can submit a video to the Student Showcase?

    Any Hoffman Academy student is welcome to submit — beginners and advanced players alike! We love seeing students at every stage of their musical journey. Note: Not every submission will be published to the showcase, but we do watch them all!

  • What should I perform in my video?

    Choose a piece from our sheet music library that you feel comfortable playing confidently. Simple songs played beautifully are wonderful to see! Remember to use good posture, relaxed and curved fingers, steady rhythm, confident playing, and musical expression. Most importantly, we love seeing students who look happy while they play!

    Looking for inspiration? We post a monthly student challenge in our Parents & Students Facebook Group.

  • What are the incentives for participating?

    Each month, our team chooses a favorite video to feature in the showcase and newsletter, and that student wins their choice of Hoffman Academy merch or a free year of Premium membership. You don’t have to be our most advanced student. We’re looking for effort, expression, and joy at every level.

  • Can I play a song from a movie or by a favorite artist?

    Those are perfect for our Parents & Students Facebook Group! Music rights are complicated, so the pieces we’re able to feature on our website, in our emails, and on our social channels are the ones with sheet music in the Hoffman Academy store. Share your movie and pop song performances in the group, or tag @hoffmanacademy on your own social media, and we’ll be cheering you on.

  • How long should my video be?

    We recommend keeping videos under 3 minutes. Short and sweet is perfect!
