I have always played the 1-handed, 1-octave scales, and have never learnt nor played the 2-handed 1-octave scales (tetrachordal 1-octave scales), so my question is, is the tetrachord for playing these scales a necessary piano skill that should be acquired and practiced or is it just a simplification used to arrive at the 1-handed, 1-octave scale? Thanks again for everything that you and your music school does.

You’re very welcome! For the most part, the 2 handed 1-octave scale is just a simplification to prepare students for the 1 handed octave scale.

That is a beautiful piece! Thank you for the suggestion. I will definitely put it down on our list for possible songs in the future.

Those are both fun suggestions! I will add them to our list of possible songs in the future. In the meantime, have you seen our new Bonus Lesson for the song from “The Lego Batman Movie”? Try it out here: WHO’S THE (BAT)MAN?
