what if this is to easy for me?
If you’ve had some previous piano experience, or if it’s too easy, it’s ok to start with unit 2. It’s good to start as early in the program as you can to learn any music theory skills that might be new to you, but feel free to move quickly through the early units, watching multiple videos a day if you want to, until they get more challenging. You can also jump around and skip lessons as needed. If you do choose to skip to unit 2, you might want to look through the lessons in unit 1 first to see if there are any topics you are unfamiliar with or would like to review. I hope that helps!
A little difficult to improvise but I am trying
It can be tricky, but I’m confident you can get the hang of it! Keep up the great work. 🙂
I learned two lessons it’s clear now. I want to learn more.
That’s great! We’re glad to have you learning with us. 🙂
I only watched two lessons and already improved on piano!
That’s wonderful! Keep up the great work!
Hi, this Cheyenne. I am just starting to play(6months), but I love Hoffman Academy and I find the first unit excellent and it tells you a lot.
Thank you! 🙂 I’m glad you’re enjoying the lessons so far.
Hi, this Cheyenne. I am just starting to play(6months), but I love Hoffman Academy and I find the first unit excellent and it tells you a lot. Also, I have a question: does it matter if you play the keyboard or the piano? I play the keyboard and it the lessons help a lot and I don’t see a difference. Thank you!
Hi Cheyenne! It’s perfectly fine to learn on an electric keyboard instead of an acoustic piano. While it’s best to have an piano, or a keyboard with 88 weighted keys, it’s also all right to start out with a smaller keyboard.
Hi this is Joshua
How much practice should I do between lessons?
Are we supposed to do a lesson a week and then then do the practice session every day?
Hi Joshua! That’s a good question. The nice thing about online lessons is that you can go at whatever pace works best for you. If you master the material in a lesson quickly, you can move on in a day or two. If the next lesson is harder, you can keep working at it until you get the hang of it before moving on. Most students find that about 2-3 lessons per week works well, but it’s entirely up to you. For some more help figuring out what pace to set, check out our blog post, When to Move On to the Next Lesson. I hope that helps!
How do you download the backtrack he was talking about?
To access the materials for this lesson, just click on the little box at the bottom left corner of the video that says “Audio” and you should be able to listen to the backing track. I hope that helps! Let us know if that doesn’t work for you.
My apologies that was my younger sister.
Help Im being forced to do this! 🙁
Hi how many lessons are free? As I can see 1&2
You can watch any of our video lessons for free, and you can get to them by either skipping the practice sessions, or navigating using our lesson index page. The printable and audio materials for most of the lessons come with a premium membership, or can be purchased through our online store. I hope that helps!
Can you possibly do the blue Danube as a lesson that would benefit e very cool!
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll add it to our list of requested future songs.
Hi, I’m from Belgium (so, my English is not perfect). But I have a question, I have a keyboard with 61 keys, is this enough to learn/play all the units? I am asking, because you are playing on a 88-key piano.
I loved the first two lessons.
Thank you! Yes, you can play all of the songs we teach in the lessons so far on a 61-key keyboard.
I should work I have keyboard too.
Awesome lesson for developing basics in piano learning, beneficial to learnwith enjoyable piano lessons.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
the lessons here are so much better than the one on youtube!
The lessons are fun, challenging, and easy to understand.
Thank you! I’m glad you’re enjoying them so far.
I have purchased a month’s premium membership for my 2 children to try out the lessons. Where do I find the free back track download for Hot Cross Buns? Thanks!
There are several ways to access the materials. The simplest one is to click on the boxes in the bottom corners of the video that say “Printables” and/or “Audio”. You can also access them in the practice sessions that come between videos. If you’d like to download the complete printable or audio materials for a unit, you can find them on your account dashboard. Scroll up to the top of the page and look for the circular icon in the top right corner. It should be a colored circle with a letter or an animal in it. Click on that circle, then go down and click on “account” which will take you to your account dashboard. From there, click on the box that says “Materials” and it will let you download all the materials for the unit you are currently in. I hope that helps!
Love this! Had a fun time doing the improv!!
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
Hi Mr. Hoffman, my son is almost 7 years old. I started teaching him how to play the piano when he was 4.5 years old. I played the piano too. Passed my grade 8 many years ago. However I was not sure if I was using the correct method and therefore I found him a piano teacher who was highly recommended by my colleagues. After having lessons from him for about 10 months, my son still struggles to read the notes. Then I found you on google. I told my son about you and we watched the first lesson of unit one. He enjoyed the lesson so much that he asked me to like you on Facebook. I am mostly likely going to upgrade to premium package.
How many lessons per week do you think is suitable for my son?
The nice thing about having online lessons is that you can go at whatever pace is best for you. After some lessons he might be ready to move on in a day, and for others he might want to keep practicing for a week before moving on. It’s even all right to move through the earlier lessons very quickly if you have previous experience playing the piano. In general we’ve found that about 2-3 lessons a week works well for most children. For some more tips about deciding what pace to go at, check out our blog post, When to Move On to the Next Lesson. I hope that helps!
My daughter just completed lesson 2 and would like to say – “Hello Mr. Hoffman”
Hi .can ì save this video in ma cellphone to use it for my children?
Certainly! You can re-watch any of the videos you want to. And, as long as it’s for personal, non-commercial use, you are welcome to download our lesson videos from our YouTube Channel to make it easier to view them offline.
I want to learn piano so I can play any song from my imagination, I wish I could tranform my ideas to real, but I’ve heard it is impossible, I learn from the basics to the advanced, so I can play “Sweden” from c418
Those are great goals! With focused practice and persistence, there’s no limit to what you can accomplish in learning and even composing music. Keep up the great work!
This lesson was a good fun especially jazz style.
Thanks! I’m glad you liked it.
hi Mr. Hoffman how do I start the lesson
You should just be able to hit the “play” symbol. But if that’s not working or if the video won’t load, you can try watching Lesson 2 on our YouTube channel instead.
I really enjoyed this lessons and learning how to improvise. Thanks for the awesome lessons!
You’re very welcome! I’m glad you enjoy the lessons.
This lesson was so much fun.
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it.
I got a premium membership for my three older children. I was honestly starting to think it was a waste for my 5 year old son. My other children were enthusiastic, but not him. My girls have clocked up about 2000 points on practice and lesson time over the past 2 weeks. I noticed that more and more my son was getting won over by Mr Hoffman. Today I found him practicing without being told. This is a big achievement.
Another plus. I have tried other online “interactive” learning. It has turned out to be not so interactive. My kids turn into zombies staring with vacant expressions and not responding to the teacher. But they listen to Mr Hoffman and even more they laugh, and call out the answers to his questions!
Thank you so much! We’re glad you’re finding our method helpful.
Hello, I am having trouble getting lesson 2 to load. Lessons 1 & 3 are fine – is there an issue with lesson 2? I have tried several times and have a premium membership however no luck. Thanks Kylie
We’re sorry you’re having trouble with the video. A few other people have had problems getting it to load in the past. If it’s still acting up, feel free to contact us through our support page, and we’ll see if we can help. In the meantime, you can try watching Lesson 2 on our YouTube channel, and then come back to the website for Lesson 3. We’re sorry for any inconvenience that may cause.
Improvising is not easy but once you master it, it’s going to be a show! Here in Brazil the pianists improvise a lot and create over all improvisation and then end up creating a new musical style over time. They learn the original style and then mix with the national styles and a different sound comes out. I want to learn to play the piano because I think it’s too beautiful who plays with dominance and safety.
This video is awesome. I thought I would not be able to do this until I watched this video. I finally played it.
Congratulations on mastering the song! Keep up the great work! 🙂
Thank you so much.I take lessons and we could not go go I looked online and I found this.
You’re very welcome! I’m glad you found the lesson helpful!
Thank you. You’re great. I’m starting now. Me and my daughter. Thank you again
You’re very welcome! We’re glad to have you learning with us.
I am enjoying the videos.
I already play an instrument and wanted to try and learn another one. Thanks
You’re very welcome. I’m glad you’re enjoying the lessons.
Please where is the academy situated
The physical location for Hoffman Academy is in Portland, Oregon.
Nice I am talented in keyboard I have never went for any lessons but I can say I am good in it and with your lessons. I think I will improve to be the best I can be but there is one thing to do like you said PRACTICE but I dot understand do you pay for any of this lessons because I am seeing.9dollars for a month or something like that please tell me
That’s a good question. The video lessons are free, so you can watch all the videos with a basic (free) account. If you have a premium account, you pay a monthly fee and get extra resources such as sheet music, listening tracks, and access to online games.
Nice I am talented in keyboard I have never went for any lessons but I can say I am good in it and with your lessons. I think I will improve to be the best I can be but there is one thing to do like you said PRACTICE
That’s right! There’s no limit to how skilled you can become if you keep practicing. 🙂
How do I play the backing track? Where is it? I can’t find it. I signed up for the free lessons but I don’t have it in my downloads.
There should be a little box in the bottom left corner of the video that says “Audio.” If you click on that, it should let you listen to the backing track. I hope that helps! Let us know if you’re still having problems.
Thanks this was really helpful!
You’re very welcome! I’m glad you found it helpful.
how do singup
I’m glad to find teacher like you.thanks a lot for your efforts❤
Thanks Mr. Hoffman
You’re very welcome! I’m glad you liked it.
Superb awesome. I am from India and I want to become a music director can you please guide me sir
Thank you! I’m glad you’re enjoying the lessons! Learning to play the piano is a useful skill no matter what branch of music you’re going into. Good luck and happy playing!
your videos are super helpful
Thank you! I’m so glad you like them. 🙂
Hi, I purchased and downloaded the complete lesson materials for 1-20 back in 2015, now that we’ve moved house, I’d like to renew our goals of learning to play the piano. I have found them on my computer but the music sheets and other things online are not available anymore. How do I get them back? Regards, Sarah
To download previously purchased materials, log into your Hoffman Academy account, and go to your account dashboard. You can get there by clicking on the circular icon in the top right corner of the page, and then clicking on “Account.” From your account dashboard, click on “Materials.” Then, in the blue banner at the top, click on “access them here.” Find your order and click on “View” then use the provided links to download your materials all together in a zipped folder, or as individual files. This will always download the most updated version of our materials.
I hope that helps! If that doesn’t work, or if you’ve tried that already, let us know and we’ll see what we can do!
Wow, I’m already successfully playing jazz on my second day!
I read some of the oldest comments from July 2016. Do you still offer the materials for Unit 1 for free if we sign up for your newsletter?
That’s great! We offer the Lesson 1 materials for free, not the full unit 1 materials. This has always been the case. The older comment you’re referring to may have had a typo in it. To get the Lesson 1 materials, all you need to do is create an account, which automatically puts you on the newsletter. Then you can access the materials by going to lesson one and clicking on the boxes at the bottom left corner of the video that say “Printables” and “Audio.” I hope that helps!
i’m reza.first it’s better to tell you my english isn’t very good, because we speak in persian, maybe i have a bad grammar in this letter .
in my country we can’t get the premium ,because we haven’t international credit _card,we can’t pay any thing out of the country .
and the premium access is very expensive for us . we can buy little car with 300$ .all of my salary in a month is 50$ because i’m student and i have a part-time job . i lost my father 5 years ago after that my mother didn’t support me,so i can’t afford to get the premium access, please please help me i really need that .
Hi! We’re so sorry to hear about your challenging situation and we hope that things improve for you in the future! We still have all of our video lessons available for free, and anyone is welcome to view them without cost. While having a premium membership is helpful, the supplementary materials are not absolutely necessary in order to learn. Good luck and happy playing!
This site is pretty good 4 my daughter she has been learing a lot
That’s great! I’m so glad you and your daughter are finding the lessons helpful.
hi my name is keenin
This is a great tutorial. I look forward to learning how to play the piano. Thank you Mr. Hoffman
Thank you! We’re glad to have you learning with us!
I’ve finally found it thank you😊
Hi, i’m trying to teach myself piano with your videos and they seem to be helping, am i missing out on TOO much without the premium?
That’s a good question. It really depends on your musical goals and learning style. If you’re making a serious study of music then premium is very helpful. The printable worksheets deepen comprehension of music theory, the audio tracks help with ear training and rhythm, and the games provide the drilling needed to become fluent in core musical concepts. However, the lessons are our core curriculum, so if you are just learning as a hobby or if that’s all you can afford, it’s certainly fine to stick with just the videos. We offer a 30-day guarantee, so the best way to find out what you’re missing is to give it a try. If you don’t feel that it’s a good fit, you’re welcome to cancel within 30 days for a full refund.
It seems studying piano with you is far more fun for Mummy (me) than my daughter. Any tips for getting her to study more? Should I maybe not do it? I thought the improvisation was absolutely brilliant. She is 5 and I can get her to practice 3 times per day. She loved the alphabet stuff. She loves being clever.
Thank you! The amount of time your daughter should spend studying will depend on your individual situation. In general, practicing three times a day should be plenty. It’s also definitely important for a student to have fun while learning and practicing. This blog post How to Make Piano Practice Fun, has some tips for making practice time more enjoyable. I hope that helps!
Hi, Joseph I have a keyboard but I,ve been training myself lessons were too high I just started the lesson and I,m very pleased to say I love your style of training I will practice everyday from now on thanks for the lessons. Darlene
Thank you! I’m so glad you’re finding the lessons helpful so far! Good luck and happy playing!
Hey, am more advanced and know all of this so, what unit should I be taking. Thank you.
It’s good to start as early in the program as possible, but if you’ve already had more than a year of piano experience, you can feel free to start in unit 2, skip around, and move quickly through the lessons until you feel like you’re starting to learn new material. I’d also suggest reading our blog post, Where to Begin with Hoffman Academy to help you decide where to start. Good luck and happy playing!
I have been taking piano lessons for seven years now, so what unit do you think? Thank you.
Wow, seven years is pretty impressive! It’s hard to say, since different methods of teaching progress at different rates and introduce techniques and music theory in different orders. You can look through the units on our lesson index page and try watching some of the lessons from later units to see if they’re closer to your skill level. However, with seven years of experience, you might be ahead of our current curriculum. We don’t have very much intermediate or advanced material yet.
hey.If i can play hot cross bun with using 6 keys at the same time and master the lessons in 15 minutes should i try more of advance level.
If you feel like Unit 1 isn’t challenging enough, you can start with Unit 2 It’s good to start as early in the program as you can to learn any music theory skills that might be new to you, but feel free to jump around and skip lessons as needed. If the lessons move too slowly, you can adjust the speed so they play faster. This blog post explains how to do that: YouTube Settings for Optimizing your Video Lessons.
Hello, could you please tell me where I can find the backing track?
Hi! For this lesson, there should be a little box on the bottom left corner of the video that says “Audio” If you click on it, it should let you download the backing track used in the lesson. I hope that helps! Good luck and happy playing!
mr Hoffman, can we learn how to play the accompaniment please
While I won’t specifically teach the accompaniment for “Hot Cross Buns,” we do have the sheet music if you’re interested in learning it on your own. If you would like us to send it to you, you can request it through our Contact Us page, and we’ll be happy to email you a copy! Good luck and happy playing!
Hello there, I’ve been studying for the past few months and have invested in the C-D-E system rather than the Do-Re-Mi nomenclature…any tips to help smooth out working on both?
Hi! If you want to learn more about solfege (Do-Re-Mi) and the musical alphabet (C-D-E) and why it’s useful to understand both systems, I’d suggest checking out our blog post: What is Solfege?. To help with using solfege in connection with the musical alphabet, just remember that solfege is a movable system, and that “Do” is the first note in the major scale of whatever key you’re playing in. So for example, if you’re playing in the key of C, the note “C” would be “Do” and if you’re playing in the key of F#, then “F#” would be “Do.” I hope that helps! Let me know if you’re still having trouble, or if you have any other questions. Good luck and happy playing!
My son was so exited to do the SUPER CHALLENGE, both hands eyes closed! he had fun playing the games as well.
That’s great! I’m so glad he’s enjoying the lessons and games, and it sounds like he’s making some awesome progress! 🙂
I just played with the accompaniment track but I did something unique:
1) The first time I heard the four clicks I played as usual
2) The second time I played the main melody yet again, but embelishing it
3) I played the original melody one last time
I think embelishing a melody is something you did not yet cover, but I wanted to try it ith this one
mr.hoffman are you married? just asking
Yes, I am.
I can play hot cross bun on the white keys
I can too, it’s E-D-C,E-D-C, C-C-C-C-D-D-D-D, E-D-C
I have a question. How can you pitch your voice with the keyboard? I take singing lessons but I still find it hard to sing the exact sound of the key without sounding breathy.
It can be hard to sing accurately and play the piano at the same time because your brain has to focus on both playing and singing. As you continue to practice each song, it should slowly become easier to sing while you play. I hope that helps!
can be improvise off the black keys for hot cross buns?
I would suggest just using the three black keys when you improvise for this song. However, you’re free to improvise any way you want, so if you’d really like to, you can try using some other notes too. Good luck and happy playing!
Hello，Mr.Hoffman, I have question that where can I download the backing track?
If you go to Lesson 1, there should be a box at the bottom left corner of the video that says “Audio”. Click on that box and it will let you download the backing track for “Hot Cross Buns”. I hope that helps! Good luck and happy playing.
Thanks, It is so interesting
I only have a 61 Key Keyboard. It is a Yamaha PSR – 18. I bought it in a pawn shop. I want to know if it is a good piano to learn with before I bump my game up.
As long as it’s in good working condition, it should be fine. Having a keyboard with 88 weighted keys to practice on is preferable because it helps you develop finger strength and because some more advanced pieces use a wider range of notes. However, it’s fine to start on a smaller keyboard, and with 61 keys you’ll still be able to play all of the songs taught in the lessons so far.
Good job sir. Nice lesson. I Just a new PIANO today..
Thank you so much I love your videos and they help me a lot.
You’re very welcome! I’m so glad you like the videos.
My parents will not do the money order is there a way that i can still learn i’ve been trying to learn for 2 years
Because all of our video lessons are completely free, many people choose to learn just using the videos. If you’re dedicated and practice regularly, you can use Hoffman Academy to improve your piano skills, with or without the materials that premium members have access to.
Video not loading, please help
We’re sorry you’re having trouble accessing the videos! Our videos are streamed via YouTube, so if you are in a place or building that blocks YouTube videos, then the videos won’t play on our website. If that’s not the problem, try again and see if the videos work now. If you’re still having trouble viewing the videos, contact us and describe your problem and we’ll try to help you further!
I don’t think that’s it
Lessons 1 and 3 play fine
Video does not load for lesson 2
If you still can’t get the video to load, try watching Lesson 2 on YouTube, and then coming back to the website for Lesson 3. We’re sorry for any inconvenience that may cause.
Hello sir Hoffman! I have a question. Am I learning about chords or notes?
That’s a great question! In this lesson, we’re just playing the melody, which is made up of individual notes. Chords are specific combinations of notes played at the same time. By the end of unit 1, you’ll start learning how to add chords to the songs you’re playing.
Hi, I’m new to HA and we are excited to learn more. I want to know where to get the backing track? The link to sign up for the Newsletter is not working. TIA.
Hi! You can get the materials for Lesson 1, which are free, by clicking on the boxes that say “Printables” and “Audio” in the bottom left corner of the video. If you would like the complete materials for unit 1, you can purchase them at our store or get a premium subscription which will allow you access to the materials for all of the units, as well as practice sessions and games, on a monthly basis. I hope that helps! In regard to the newsletter, if you’re still having trouble, let us know through our contact us page and we will be happy to help you!
Thank you so much for your academy, which is helping me teach my son how to play the piano! Though I have played since I was 5, and did competitions, I don’t feel like I know how to “teach” him. He’s going to be a sophomore in high school and finally decided he was interested in learning to play. When he asked me I was super excited! I had been asking him since he was young. Thanks again!
You’re welcome! We’re so glad to have your son learning with us!
thank you because of your first lesson i’m staying with the academy and I can’t wait for more fun
You’re welcome! I’m so glad you enjoyed the first lesson and that you want to continue learning with us!
These lessons are great! Way better than all my piano teachers I have had! What’s the best way to practice when you go out of town and don’t have access to a piano?🤔
I’m glad you like the lessons, and we’re so happy to have you learning with us! Even if you go on vacation and don’t have access to a keyboard of any kind, you can still practice by listening to and singing the songs you’re learning. This blog post, Summer Time Practice Tips, also has some ideas for keeping up with piano practice during summer vacation. I hope that helps!
26 year old guy from Galway, Ireland here.
Loving these lessons 😀
Actually I can play now in a very short time
I am able to pay with actual nods but not able to improvise like same song with different nods but I am like to much thanks
LOVING THIS XXX

Im enjoyig yhis alot thank you
You’re very welcome!
This one was good
Thanks alot for your piano lessons. I have been learning a little, but never found a good video/lesson for a good price or for my skill level. I love your positivity and exitement to learn us to play the piano. Excuses for my bad English!
Keep it up!
Thank you! We’re so glad to have you learning with us!
Will we later learn to read music sheets and notes and learn to play by reading?
Yes! As you continue to progress through the lessons, you will learn how to sight read music.
I’m so excited for lesson3😄
lot’s of hot cross buns
Hot Cross Buns taste pretty good, but maybe we could use Hot Cross Tortillas instead. Just a thought.
Your lessons are great! I’m a thirteen year-old and I am only a beginner at piano. I am unavailable on Saturdays but my schedule is free for the rest of the week, how many hours per day, and how many days a week, would you recommend me to practice? Thanks!
Hi Patricia! I am so glad that you are enjoying the lessons! Everyone watches the lessons at a different pace, so it depends on what is right for you. Most students watch 2-3 lessons per week in the beginning. And I would recommend practicing 5 days a week for at least 15 minutes a day in the beginning. The further you get in the program and the more advanced you are, the more you will want to practice each day. You can also read more details in our When to Move onto the Next Lesson article, written by Mr. Hoffman.
Hello Mr. Hoffman! My name’s Patricia and I live in the Philippines. I have been looking for piano lessons just like these, easy to understand, free, and awesome! Thank you so much for these great video tutorials!
Lesson 2 is not working.
Are you still having an issue viewing lesson 2? I would try refreshing your page and see if that helps.
Mine isn’t either and I have refreshed a lot
If you are having issues viewing this lesson, please use our Contact Us page to submit your issue and our support team will be happy to help troubleshoot the issue.
Hi Chris, I noticed that Mr. Hoffman’s video’s are also available on YouTube, so you can try seaching it there.
Hi mr. Hoffman pano po matuto ng piano
Ate, hindi yata siya nakakaintindi ng tagalog haha.
It’s true that I don not understand Tagalog. But I am thrilled to have you learning with me! Welcome to Hoffman Academy!
Hello we love your lessons! I just purchased Unit 1 for my son but can not locate the Improvisation with Hot Cross Buns mp3 track? Thanks so much 🙂
The backing track for improvising with “Hot Cross Buns” is the first mp3 on the Practice CD (01-Hot-Cross-Buns). There are also “Hot Cross Buns” Tracks on the Listening CD, but those are mostly used for ear training. Hope this helps! If you are still having trouble locating it contact us and we will be happy to send it to you. Good luck and happy playing!
Hi.mr hoffman .it sounds perfect that i found you.im new in usa .i was student in tehran conservatoary in iran.im really looking for piano classes for refresh myself then keep going into the music.my main question is that ,can i meet you if its possible??

This is a really fun learning site. I like it and so does my family.
I’m so glad to hear that! Music is a wonderful thing to share with your family.
Hi. But can I use other notes then just Mi, Re and Do?
Yes! All of the black keys will sound good with this accompaniment, which gives you two more notes to play with.
I need help I was at unit 2 but I was having trouble
I’m sorry to hear that! I’m impressed, however, that you’re apparently taking time for some review – that’s a great thing to do when you’re having trouble moving forward in the lessons. Was there a particular question or issue you needed help with? I’m happy to oblige!
Just started these lessons with my 11, 9, and 6 year olds. They are excellent!
Thank you so much! I’m very glad to hear that you and your kids are enjoying our lessons. Good luck and happy playing!
I am doing another piano corse and so I am doing two piano corses
Wow, that’s commitment! 🙂
Yay Once again! 🙂
Hi! I watched the vids but I couldn’t find the material and i bought it at the store. Where can u find it after buying it?
That’s a great question. After placing an order, you should have received a confirmation email with download links (and, since it’s an automated response, you may want to check your spam/junk folder in case it was misfiled). Even without the email, however, you can always access your files by logging in to our website and clicking the blue “Account” button in the upper right corner. Check under “Recent Orders” and click on “View.” Feel free to contact us if you have any trouble. Good luck and happy playing!
These lessons are really great. Trying to do them with my 4 year old. Its hard to hold his attention but he hangs in there to see the finger puppets at the end (BRILLIANT!). Thank you for offering these!
You are very welcome! I’m glad you and your son are enjoying our lessons.
Thank you for this wonderful resource! My 9-year-old is enjoying his lessons immensely!
I’m so glad! We’d love to hear about her progress down the road. Good luck and happy playing!
THIS IS THE BEST PIANO LESSONS EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀 ITS NOT :(.
I’m glad you enjoyed most of it! Did you have a question or concern we could help with?
Where are the worksheets you said were available on your video?
Basic (free) and Premium members alike may download the printable and audio materials for Lesson 1 using the links below the video viewing area. Good luck and happy playing!
I bought the family version of the software, but it did not have the backing track for Hot Cross Buns for the improvisation lesson. Was it supposed to have that?
The backing track for Lesson 1 Part 2 is the same jazzy accompaniment used in Lesson 1 part 1. Sorry for the confusion!
Hi, I have registered but cannot find the backing track to Lesson 1 Pt. 2. Can you please direct me to it. TY.
I’ve registered but haven’t received the gift. Please send to
Thanks, it looks like an excellent approach to especially help young ones get started.
Thanks for notifying us! We’ve responded in detail via email.
Hi i was wondering what unit do you learn to read music .
Staff notation is introduced near the end of Unit 1 and the grand staff is introduced at the beginning of Unit 2; however, learning to read music is a process that we teach and build on gradually over our first several units of lessons. I hope that helps!

is there an option to mail cd’s instead of downloading mp3’s? I’m finding it hard to login to the site with my free account from my phone- it keeps saying login or register & in the top right it shows I am logged in. It doesn’t give me the option to listen to the free ” jazz hot cross buns ” from my phone or the computer.
I’m afraid we haven’t produced hard copies of our PDF or MP3 materials and so are unable to ship CDs. I also apologize that you’re having a hard time logging in to our site – we would love to help you get that working, and to help you receive your free materials for Lesson 1! Please send an email to Support@HoffmanAcademy.com with the following information:
1. What browser and operating system are you using?
2. When you click “Log In,” does a pop-up login form appear, or are you taken to a new page with the login form?
We look forward to helping you!
I enjoyed watching Mr.Hoffman teach the basic. I am playing piano at church but I am lazy to read notes now so I play mostly chords that is why I want to start learning again. I would like to register for all the music lessons. . Please let me know how to register. Thank you
