The chorus of “Jingle Bells” is one of the easiest Christmas piano songs you can learn to play. Everyone will love singing along with this holiday favorite that celebrates the fun of a sleigh ride in the snow.

What makes this an easy Christmas piano song to play? It uses only five consecutive notes on the piano, sometimes known as a pentascale, so your hand never has to change positions. The melody includes a lot of repeated notes and has a simple but catchy rhythm. No wonder it’s a favorite tune for singing and playing!

What is the most cheerful Christmas song on piano?

It’s hard to pick a most cheerful Christmas song, but “Deck the Halls” is definitely a top contender. This song comes from Wales, and the original Welsh lyrics are all about the fun of spending New Year’s Eve with family and friends. The English lyrics were written in the 1860’s by Thomas Oliphant, a Scottish musician. The bright and lively tune makes it fun to sing along.

This energetic Christmas song comes from Ukraine and its melody is based on traditional Ukrainian folk chants. It’s one of the easy-to-learn Christmas songs on piano because the tune is played with only a few simple finger patterns that repeat in different positions. Once you’ve learned the patterns, you can play the whole song! As you play, it’s easy to imagine the tune is the voice of Christmas bells ringing out over the snow.
