Guitar Lessons Overview
Our private guitar lessons will provide a fun introduction to the guitar while laying a foundation of solid musicianship. Not only will students learn proper guitar technique and performance practice, but they will also develop a broad range of musical skills and a basic understanding of music theory. Lessons are tailored to each student's needs, interests, and skill level, from beginner to intermediate. Guitar Curriculum
Private guitar lessons will focus on:
- Developing natural, healthy guitar technique and practice habits
- Learning to play melody lines and various chord strumming and fingerpicking patterns
- Reading musical notation (both on a musical staff and guitar tablature) and chord diagrams
- Reading and performing rhythms
- Building a repertoire of guitar literature
- Learning to interpret and express guitar music of diverse styles and genres (folk, rock, etc.)
- Learning basic care and maintenance of acoustic or electric guitars
